NASCAR WINSTON CUP SERIES 2003 SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED
October race at Lowe's Motor Speedway switched to prime time

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Aug. 19, 2002) - National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) officials announced Monday the 2003 NASCAR Winston Cup Series schedule, a lineup of 36 series championship events that will begin Feb. 16 with the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway.

The season - which will end Nov. 16 at Homestead-Miami Speedway - has no changes from 2002 in terms of the number of races on the schedule or the sites. But there is one significant alteration: The annual fall event at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Concord, N.C., has been switched to a Saturday night (Oct. 11).

The NASCAR Winston Cup Series again visits 23 tracks, in a total of 19 states.
