Daytona 500
Daytona International Speedway, 1801 W. International Speedway Blvd., Daytona Beach.
Last event: February 15, 2004
Tips and rules for Daytona 500
To Follow
. Park away from the Speedway. The parking is cheaper and the after-race traffic will thin out as you walk back to your car.
|
· Choose your vantage point. Take to the grandstands for relative serenity, the infield for rowdiness.
· Entering rules. Grandstand fans may take in only one small, soft-sided cooler and a clear tote bag. If you're a pack mule, go for the infield.
To AVOID
· Plan your day ahead of time. Know when the races start and finish, and stay home during peak traffic.
· Shop by phone. Merchants near the Speedway recommend calling ahead for quick shopping.
· Dine in, On Race weakend. Leave local restaurants for the tourists this weekend. Stay home if you like a quiet dinner.
